Tank-O3 maintenance 

A carefree holiday is something everyone longs for. You start your motorhome or connect your caravan to the towbar of your car, get in and you go on holiday. Or you go sailing with your boat. As soon as you are already on the road, or have arrived at your destination, your well-deserved rest can begin. But to get to this point you had to do a lot of preparatory work. After all, a motorhome, caravan or boat always needs maintenance. Every once in a while you have to check whether everything still works so that you are not faced with surprises during your holiday. 

The same goes for Tank-O3. This is important because access to fresh water is also important during your days off in the motorhome, caravan or boat. You may not realize it, but the water tank is the perfect place for fungi and bacteria (including legionella or E.coli), algae and fungi to multiply quickly, with all the adverse consequences that entails! Fortunately, Tank-O3 knows how to handle that. This system converts the oxygen in the water into ozone, which completely destroys bacteria, algae and fungi and gives them no chance to develop further.

So you can relax in your hammock or otherwise relax while Tank-O3 ensures that your water stays sparkling clean. Although the system works silently and without you noticing, this does not mean that no maintenance is required to make it work properly. Not much maintenance, but some. And that has to do with limescale in particular. Read below what you can do about this to ensure that Tank-O3 remains your always reliable system for clean drinking and shower water. 

Check the cell nucleus every 2 to 3 weeks, more often if necessary!
All tap water contains lime, and lime likes to adhere and accumulate wherever it can, such as in a shower head. The same applies to the cell nucleus in the Tank-O3 system (electrolysis cell). Tank-O3 therefore recommends checking the cell nucleus at least 1 x every 2 to 3 weeks (and if necessary, even 1 x a week if the water is extremely high in limescale) for limescale. To make this limescale-free, you can dip the cell nucleus -with the hose still attached but without power on it- in a glass or bottle filled with cleaning vinegar. Let this soak for at least fifteen minutes or as needed so that the then clean system can do its job 100% again. See the attached description in the packaging or look at Cleaning tips

Check every week / 2 weeks (or more often) whether there is enough water in the jar!
Nowadays we supply the Tank-O3 fresh water system with a jar around the electrolysis unit. Normally you should refill this jar every 2 weeks (at 50 mA) with lime-free water. If you do not yet have a container for the electrolysis unit, we recommend that you still order it via our webshop, see Order.

Without a jar it still applies that there is always lime in the tap water. And limescale likes to adhere and accumulate wherever it can, such as in a shower head.
